      About BIO Spiritual Focusing

Body is our common human doorway into the emerging world of spirit. Beyond ideology, culture, race or religious affiliation, the human body, with wondrous capacity for knowing and being in the universe, is what ultimately binds every human being into a shared experience of spirit. Paying attention via FOCUSING (www.focusing.org) to the knowing each of us has available to us within our own unique bodies is what we will be introduced to during this experiential evening.

    3. October 11, 2012, EXPLORING THE FELT SENSE. (Level One Focusing Training for those interested in certification.) This is a 12 hour module developed by Lucy Bowers available by telephone on Thursday nights in October on the 11, 18, 25, November 1, 8, and 15. This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the work of Eugene Gendlin Ph.D. called Focusing which is based on his Philosophy of the Implicit. (For more info click here.)

    4. Sunday December 16th, 2012, Focusers and friends are invited to a potluck dinner and afternoon get together starting at 3 o'clock. RSVP Call or email Lucy Bowers for details. 416-690-4862 or lucybowers@sympatico.ca

    JUNE 15 & 16

The Art of Listening: three hour introduction to volunteers at The Listening Post on April 28th from 10 until 1 p.m.

This experiential  presentation will be delivered by Joy Teglas and Lucy Bowers. Together we will explore listening from a Focusing (the body felt sensing) perspective. For that we will model Dr. Janet's Klein's adaptation of Gendlin's work that she called Interactive Focusing.

In those 3 hours we can only give a taste or a glimpse of this way of listening. We will also explore the concept of Presence as we mean it in Focusing. There will be handouts.

A new piece we hope to weave into the workshop is from Recovery Focusing by Suzanne Noel, a Focusing Coordinator from Costa Rica, who has developed this method from using 12 step both in her personal life and in her teaching of Focusing. We are asking for this workshop to be paid by donation which will go towards the work of The Listening Post. Please call 416-690-4862 (Lucy Bowers) for information about location in the city of Toronto and any questions.

Touching the Soul: A Sexual Dilemma

On October 29th, there will be a one-day workshop called Touching the Soul: A Sexual Dilemma, facilitated by Bala Jaison Ph.D. This workshop is about a certain kind of interactional intimacy for which we do not yet have a name. As the planet continues to shrink and as we become more interconnected and aware of each other, we begin to feel empathically drawn and attracted to others whom we intuitively know share our journey. Due to lack of language, these intense connections are often confused with sexual attraction; however, what has been touched is not the body but the deep love of Touching the Soul.

Workshop will be held from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Bring your own lunch; refreshments provided. Fee is $150.00 (two for $250.00).

Email Lucy for details and registration, at: the_learning_zone_to@hotmail.com.

How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways!
    One…Two… Three, Four, Five!

Yes! According to the work of Dr. Gary Chapman there are Five Love Languages with which we communicate and receive love. He has learned over the past 30 years of marital counseling that relationships often go off track because two people are not aware of the love language their partner is using and so the love tank we are all born with runs dry.

In this workshop participants will be introduced to Dr. Chapman’s work. They will learn how to use Focusing to explore and discover the love language that is the primary way in which they communicate love. It will also be able to offer new insights as to how we receive love through the love language spoken by those we hold dear.

    What Is Focusing?
A special way to come home to yourself by practicing how to turn your attention inside your body and learning how to listen, so that the energy of your life can be freed to move forward. We will look at the work of Chapman and discern with Focusing as a tool how it is relevant in our own lives. See www.focusing.org.

    Facilitated by Lucy Bowers
A Certifying Coordinator and Trainer for the Focusing Institute she has been teaching Focusing to adults and children for over twenty years. She has presented workshops throughout Canada, the U.S. and in Europe.

Fee is $150.00 (two for $250.00).

Please bring own lunch; refreshments provided.
