It Should Not Hurt To Be a Child
Focusing with Children

Facilitated by Lucy Bowers

A Weekend Workshop to introduce you to a way of being with children using the work of Dr. E.T. Gendlin Ph.D. called Focusing (

MARCH 12th, 13th, 14th

This will be an experiential workshop starting at 7:30 p.m. on the Friday evening until 9:30
Resuming at 9:30 a.m. Saturday until 5:30
Once more on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. until 12:30

An introduction to Focusing through the eyes of children, as we use role playing, art activities etc. and connect to our own child within. There will be both large and small group sessions using Focusing. In this way participants will learn of the benefits of Focusing as an effective tool in our interaction with children. Participants will discover how easy Focusing is for children to learn and integrate into their development, enabling their growth emotionally, intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually. Focusing nurtures the sense of direction needed, to make decisions, resolve conflict, overcome emotional obstacles to learning and avoid outcomes of bullying.

Lucy Bowers has integrated this process into her classroom as an elementary teacher in Toronto. She has been presenting this work in Canada and internationally to other teachers, parents, grandparents and social workers etc. for the past 20 years. Three articles about this work have been published and available upon request.
